Team Captain: Nicole Fassnacht Nicole is a current Nursing major here at NMU. She has enjoyed sailing since a very young age, learning on the east coast of Maine, then continuing for some international sailing in Belize, Galapagos Islands and British Virgin Islands, as well as long races crossing Lake Michigan, also around the coast. If she is not sailing, you can find her doing other outdoor activities, especially hiking, snowboarding or camping, throughout the year. She can't wait to see you on the water!
Practice Captain: Joey Robbins Joey Robbins is a freshman at NMU. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and of course sailing. He just started sailing at the beginning of the school year, but promises, it will not be disappointing to join the sailing team! 'You will learn a phenomenal amount of information!'.
Treasurer: Collin Shinners Colin has sailed pretty much his whole life. His parents have always had sailboats and growing up in Marquette, sailing was always accessible. He raced ensigns on Wednesday nights but he is new to dinghy racing. This is his second year on the team.
Merchandise: Henry Westlind My name is Henry Westlind and I am in charge of merchandise. I am from Minnetonka Minnesota, 30 west of Minneapolis. I started sailing when I was in kindergarten. I joined the Minnetonka high school sailing team in 7th grade. My Junior and Senior year I was on the varsity sailing team traveling from California all the way to Maine for regattas. In high school I also played football, hockey, and rec basketball. I started a lawn mowing business in 6th grade. By senior year I was mowing 40 yards a week with multiple employees and sold the business before coming to Northern Michigan University. Snowmobiling is one of my favorite things to do other than sailing which is partly what brought me to Northern Michigan
